Hello December!

Fun and Festive Days for the End of the Year!

Hello everyone! December is a very busy month with big holidays like Christmas and New Year’s Eve, but it’s also full of wonderfully silly and fun international days! These days are a perfect chance to relax, have a laugh, and practice your English. For example, the month starts sweetly on December 1st with World Doughnut Day, and we get even sweeter on December 4th with National Cookie Day—a perfect excuse to enjoy a baked treat! If you are feeling creative, you can celebrate December 12th as National Gingerbread House Day by building a candy-covered house with your friends.

For something a little different, you can celebrate December 5th as International Ninja Day! Can you be quiet and sneaky like a ninja all day? Or, for a funny challenge, mark your calendar for December 18th, National Answer The Phone Like Buddy The Elf Day. You have to answer your phone saying, “Buddy the Elf, what’s your favorite color?” This is from a famous movie and is sure to make your friends laugh! Also, December 14th is Monkey Day, a great day to learn about all the different kinds of monkeys and apes around the world.

As the year ends, there are a few more chances for fun and connection. December 28th is National Call a Friend Day, a great time to reconnect with people you haven’t talked to recently before the new year starts. And finally, on December 31st, we celebrate Make Up Your Mind Day—a silly way to encourage you to make a few fun decisions for the coming year! Use these days to try new things, talk to people, and practice your English in a relaxed, fun way. We hope you have a fantastic and fun-filled December!
