American-style Home Fried Potatoes
- Olive Oil
- 2 cups of water
- 4 Potatoes
- 1 onion
- Garlic powder
- Sausage 😁
Pour the olive oil in a hot frying pan and heat it on medium.
Thinly slice the potatoes and onions then put them in a frying pan.
Pour olive oil onto the potatoes to coat them.
Sprinkle the potatoes with basil, garlic powder, salt & pepper.
Stir fry the potatoes on medium heat for 2 minutes.
Add the 2 cups of water.
Cover the potatoes with a lid and cook them on medium heat, stirring occasionally to make sure they don’t burn.
Let the potatoes and onions cook until all of the water is absorbed and they are medium softness.
Uncover the potatoes and cook them on high heat (stirring occasionally) until they turn slightly crispy and brown.
Serve the potatoes warm or cold.
These potatoes are an excellent breakfast when served with hot sausage.
They also make a good dinner or party snack when served with beer or wine!
I highly recommend serving fresh vegetables, salads and fruits with this dish as it can be quite heavy.
